AMRU Senior Resident / Tutor Specialist Counselling 2025-26 Notification Released

Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh has officially released the notification for State Common / Centralized Counselling for selection of Senior Residents / Tutor Specialists (Class-I, Gazetted) on a tenure basis for the academic session 2025-26 (Cycle-I). The counselling will be conducted for appointment in Government Medical Colleges affiliated with AMRU, including SLBS Government Medical College & Hospital, Ner Chowk, Mandi, and AIMSS Chamiana, Shimla.

Eligibility Conditions

• Selection shall be made on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by AMRU.
• Reservation benefits are admissible only to Bonafide Himachali candidates.
• In-service EWS candidates will be considered only under the Unreserved category.
• EWS certificate with income up to ₹4.00 lakh is mandatory.
• Maximum age limit is 45 years with relaxation as per Resident Doctor Policy–2025.
• Candidates must be registered with any State Medical Council; registration with Himachal Pradesh State Medical Council is mandatory before joining.
• Candidates who have already completed one full tenure will be considered only after accommodating all eligible first-time candidates.

Educational Qualifications

For Broad Specialties

• MD/MS or DNB in the concerned specialty from a University/Institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
• Alternatively, Post Graduate Diploma or qualifications permitted by NMC regulations.
• M.Sc./Ph.D. degrees permitted under NMC Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025 will also be considered.

For Super-Specialties

• MD/MS/DNB in the parent broad specialty is mandatory.
• Preference will be given to candidates holding DM/MCh qualifications.
• MD/MS/DNB candidates will be considered only after eligible DM/MCh candidates are accommodated.

Syllabus and Scheme of Entrance Test

• Total Questions: 50 MCQs
• Duration: 90 minutes
• Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct answer, -1 mark for each incorrect answer
• No minimum qualifying marks
• Questions as per NMC syllabus of the concerned specialty
• Entrance Test Time: 11:00 AM (report one hour before the exam)

• Application Fee: ₹5,000/-
• Mode of Payment: Online only
• Fee once paid is non-refundable

Counselling Schedule and Venue

• Entrance Test Date: 12 January 2026
• Venue: SLBS Government Medical College & Hospital, Ner Chowk, Mandi
• Seat allocation through merit-cum-choice via physical counselling at AMRU Campus, Ner Chowk
• Second round of counselling will be conducted, if required, to fill vacant seats
