Doom Movement in Bushahr
In 1859 AD, the farmers revolted against the ruler of Bushahr. This revolt was known as Doom Movement. The main cause of the protest was the introduction of analysis of revenue and the measurement (Paimaish) system. The farmers used to give 1/5th of their produce to the state along with oil, ghee, milk, wool and cattles. But now taxes were imposed in the form of cash. They were unable to pay cash and when the ruler forced them, the farmers revolted. Rohru area was the main center of this movement.
