Dr. Swati of Jogindernagar gets Young Women Scientist Award

Jogindernagar forestry professor Dr Swati Verma has been awarded the Young Woman Scientist Award at the CITAAS-2024 conference sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The award was given at the national conference held at Guru Kashi University, Bathinda, Punjab, on the basis of her research achievements in agricultural science.

Dr. Swati Verma, who hails from Jogindernagar, said that she has 15 years of experience in molecular biology. She worked at the Himalayan Institute of Bioresource Technology, Palampur till 2017 on the analysis of the draft genome of an Indian isolate of Vanchuria inaequalis, the fungus that causes scab disease in apples.

During this period, he achieved significant research results, which increased the opportunities for innovation in the agricultural sector. He said that his research and innovations have given trainees of horticulture and agricultural science an opportunity to explore new opportunities in this field.
