Remuneration
Home Guard Volunteers will be paid remuneration when called for duty as per Government rates. At present, the remuneration is fixed at Rs. 977 per day.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- General Duty Home Guards: Minimum 10+2 pass from a recognized board.
- Technical Trades: Matriculation plus ITI Certificate in relevant trade recognized by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
- Bandmen: Matriculation/10+2 with relevant musical skill.
- Drivers: 10+2 with valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving License.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 Years
Maximum Age: 50 Years
Cut-off date for age calculation: 1st January of the recruitment year.
Physical Standards (General Duty)
Male Candidates
- Height: 5 feet 6 inches (General), 5 feet 4 inches (SC/ST)
- Chest: 31–32 inches (General), 29–30 inches (SC/ST)
Female Candidates
- Height: 5 feet 2 inches (General), 5 feet (SC/ST)
Selection Process
- Stage-I: Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Stage-II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Stage-III: Written Test and Merit-Based Evaluation
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – General Duty
Male Candidates
- High Jump: 135 cm
- Long Jump: 4 meters
- 1500 meters Run: 5 minutes 30 seconds
- 100 meters Run: 14 seconds
Female Candidates
- High Jump: 110 cm
- Long Jump: 3 meters
- 800 meters Run: 3 minutes 50 seconds
- 100 meters Run: 18 seconds
Merit Criteria
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in:
- Educational Qualification
- NCC Certificate
- NSS / Bharat Scouts and Guides
- Sports Achievements
- Driving Experience (for Driver posts)
- Written Test
Important Instructions
- Candidates must apply only for vacancies of their respective district.
- Uploading of educational and age proof documents is mandatory.
- No candidate will be allowed to appear in Physical Test without valid ID proof.
- Selected candidates will undergo 45 days of basic training.
- All disputes will be subject to Shimla jurisdiction.
