Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization/dissertation/course work/project work in Chemical Sciences.
- OR M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, M.S. (Pharm.) or M.Pharm. from a recognized university.
Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of three years post-qualification experience in research, training, or analytical work in the relevant field.
Desirable Qualification
- Ph.D. in the relevant subject.
- Knowledge of customs, manners, dialects, and conditions of Himachal Pradesh.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 45 Years
- Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.
- Reserved category candidates of Himachal Pradesh will get age relaxation as per government rules.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Objective Type Screening Test
- Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT)
- Personality Test
The Screening Test includes:
- General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh – 30 Marks
- National & International Affairs – 30 Marks
- Hindi Language – 20 Marks
- English Language – 20 Marks
Candidates qualifying the written examination will be called for the Personality Test.

The examination centre for this recruitment is Shimla. However, HPPSC reserves the right to change the examination centre if required.
