HPU Shimla Vice- Chancellor Recruitment 2023:-The Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted in accordance with the terms and conditions of Para 7.3 (ii) of the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2018 read with Section 12(1) of Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970, by the Hon’ble Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla (Governor, Himachal Pradesh) for recommending a panel of names to the Chancellor for appointment as Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla (H.P.), invites applications for the position of Vice- Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Details can be seen on the website of Himachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan i.e. (www.himachalrajbhavan.nic.in). The eligible and interested candidates have to submit four copies of their application for the post of Vice-Chancellor as per prescribed application format to the Secretary to Governor, Himachal Pradesh, Raj Bhavan, Shimla-171002 by post and online at email address: [email protected] within 21 days from the date of publication of the advertisement. The prescribed format of the application for the post of Vice Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla be downloaded from the official website of the Himachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan i.e. www.himachalrajbhavan.nic.in). The application has to be filed online on or before 24.11.2023 upto 05:00 P.M. and simultaneously, four physical copies with all the necessary documents will also be required to submitted by post addressed to the Secretary to Governor, Himachal Pradesh, Raj Bhavan, Shimla-171002 on or before the due date. The applicant will also be required to give an undertaking that she/he will be able to take up the assignment immediately. The applicant will also submit an affidavit that no criminal case; or any vigilance/ court case, or inquiry for any financial or other irregularity is pending against her/him. In case of any earlier conviction, indictment or departmental penalty, he/she will submit the details of such conviction/ indictment / penalty along with the application. This Secretariat will not be responsible for any postal delay.

Terms & Conditions:-

1.Experience in the field of Higher Education as Professor or equivalent at least for ten (10) years (the decision of Search-cum-Selection Committee regarding what is equivalent would be final).
2. Administrative experience in the field of Higher Education not below the rank of Professor and Dean, Head of the Department or Director in a University at least for 5 years.
3.Experience of working in Statutory Authorities/Statutory Research Institutions such as Board of Studies, Academic Council, Executive Council, Board of Management, Senate etc.
4. In case of persons already working/employed in Government Departments/ Autonomous Bodies, the application should be sent through proper channel along with vigilance clearance. However, they may send an advance copy of the application at the address mentioned below.
5. Applications found incomplete or received late will be rejected.
