The Jal Shakti Vibhag, Solan has issued a corrigendum to the earlier recruitment notice for 12 Para Pump Operator posts. The category-wise allocation has been revised according to the applicable reservation policy/roster of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.

Para Pump Operator Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification for Para Pump Operator

The candidate should have:

• Passed Matriculation (10th).
• Certificate in trades such as Electrician, Wireman, Diesel Mechanic, Pump Operator-cum-Mechanic from a recognized ITI.
• Alternatively, Matriculation with a certificate in the above-mentioned trades under the Skill Development Scheme of the Government.

Honorarium and Working Hours

• Honorarium: Rs. 7,100 per month.
• Working Hours: 6 hours per day.

Para Pump Operator Selection Process

The total selection process carries 10 marks:

For the academic weightage, the percentage of marks is calculated out of 5. For example, a candidate securing 50% marks will receive 2.5 marks.

Para Pump Operator Skill Test

• Minor repair of pumps and basic fault-finding knowledge.
• Replacement of defective parts.
• Knowledge of test pressures and leakage detection.
• Knowledge of pump installation and motor alignment.
• Ability to locate faults in electrical systems and motors.

• Ability to cut pipe threads using ratchet and die sets.
• Knowledge of fittings and specials used on pipes.
• Basic understanding of village water supply infrastructure and pipe distribution layouts.
• Knowledge of flow regulation techniques for equitable water distribution in hilly terrain.
• Knowledge of pipe-fitting tools and their operation.
• Ability to handle grievances, complaints and conflict resolution.

Physical Test

For Para Fitter and Multipurpose Worker, the notice specifies that the candidate should:
