Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana-Himachal Pradesh

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government has taken a new initiative and launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana‘. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to widows, destitute, divorced women and disabled parents for the education and welfare of their children. He said that the state government will allocate an amount of Rs 53.21 crore annually for this scheme.

The main objective of the scheme is to provide assistance to two specific age groups. Under this scheme, eligible women and disabled parents will be provided a monthly grant of Rs 1000 to meet the education, health and nutrition expenses of children below the age of 18 years. Apart from this, the government will also provide financial assistance to bear the tuition and hostel expenses of children admitted in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma or professional courses.

Benefits under the scheme

Under the Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana, the following benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries by the government:-

• Free education to the children of all eligible beneficiaries.
• One thousand rupees will be deposited every month in the accounts of eligible children till the age of 18 years.

To avail the benefit of Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana, the applicant must fulfill the following eligibility criteria issued under the scheme:-

• Women of the state will be able to avail the benefit of this scheme.
• The benefit will be available only to widows, destitute, divorced or disabled parents of the state.
• To avail the benefit of the scheme, the income of the eligible person from all sources should be less than one lakh rupees.
