Objective: With a view to provide income support to all land holding eligible farmer families, the Government has launched PM-KISAN. The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of the farmers in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income.
Salient Features of PM-KISAN
- PM KISAN is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India
- It has become operational from 1.12.2018.
- Under the scheme an income support of Rs.6000/- per year in three equal instalments will be provided to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares
- Definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children.
- State Government and UT Administration will identify the farmer families which are eligible for support as per scheme guidelines.
- The fund will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
- The first instalment for the period 1.12.2018 to 31.03.2019 is to be provided in this financial year itself.
- There are various Exclusion Categories for the scheme.

उद्देश्य: सभी भूमि धारक पात्र किसान परिवारों को आय सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए, सरकार ने पीएम-किसान शुरू किया है। इस योजना का उद्देश्य उचित फसल स्वास्थ्य और उचित उपज, प्रत्याशित कृषि आय के अनुरूप सुनिश्चित करने के लिए विभिन्न आदानों की खरीद में किसानों की वित्तीय जरूरतों को पूरा करना है।
पीएम-किसान की मुख्य विशेषताएं
- पीएम किसान भारत सरकार से 100% वित्त पोषण के साथ एक केंद्रीय क्षेत्र की योजना है यह 1.12.2018 से चालू हो गया है।
- इस योजना के तहत 2 हेक्टेयर तक की संयुक्त भूमि/स्वामित्व वाले छोटे और सीमांत किसान परिवारों को तीन समान किस्तों में प्रति वर्ष 6000 / – की आय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।
- योजना के लिए परिवार की परिभाषा पति, पत्नी और नाबालिग बच्चे हैं।
- राज्य सरकार और केंद्र शासित प्रदेश प्रशासन उन किसान परिवारों की पहचान करेगा जो योजना दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार सहायता के लिए पात्र हैं।
- राशि सीधे लाभार्थियों के बैंक खातों में ट्रांसफर की जाएगी।
- प्रथम किश्त 1.12.2018 से 31.03.2019 की अवधि में प्रदान की जानी है। योजना के लिए विभिन्न बहिष्करण श्रेणियां हैं।
