Sarita Devi gets National Teacher Award, Himachal teacher will be honored in New Delhi

Sarita Devi, Instructor Swing Technology, Government Industrial Training Institute Shamshi, working in the Department of Technical Education Vocational and Industrial Training, Himachal Pradesh has been selected for the National Teacher Award 2024 by the Government of India. A total of 16 teachers from across the country have been selected for the National Teacher Award 2024 by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. In this award, Sarita Devi of Fagog village of Jhanduta in Bilaspur district will be given a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a medal. This award will be given in New Delhi on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on September 5.

Sarita Devi has been selected for this award for teaching short term courses other than her own work. Sarita Devi has trained more than 300 women under the special women upliftment scheme since the session 2013-14. Apart from this, she has provided training to 137 trainees under the short term course run by Himachal Pradesh Skill Development Corporation and 11 trainees under the short term course of Pradhan Mantri Skill Development Scheme.
