UPSC CDS 2/2024: Notification:-The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (II) 2024. Here’s an overview of the key details:

The total number of vacancies released is 459 for UPSC CDS(II) . UPSC CDS(II) Post-wise vacancy distribution is as follows

• The CDS exam consists of objective-type questions.
• The written exam is followed by an SSB interview and a medical examination.
• For IMA, INA, and AFA, the written exam includes three papers: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.
• Each paper is of 2 hours duration and carries 100 marks.
• For OTA, the written exam includes two papers: English and General Knowledge, each of 2 hours duration and 100 marks.
• There is a penalty of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer.

• Arithmetic: Number Systems, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Distance, Time & Work Algebra: Basic Operations, Simple Equations
• Trigonometry: Trigonometric Ratios, Heights and Distances
• Geometry: Lines and Angles, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Areas and Volumes
• Mensuration: Areas, Volumes of different shapes
• Statistics: Collection and Tabulation of Data, Graphical Representation, Measures of Central Tendency
