Revolt in Baghal and Keonthal
In 1897 AD, a revolt against excessive revenue demand arose in Baghal. It again arose in 1905. At last, the British succeeded to suppress the movement. A land movement was started in 1897 AD in Keonthal against the order in which the people of Keonthal were asked to stop giving ‘Lagaan (land revenue) and to perform begar in the state.
