Books & Authors of Himachal Pradesh: Prize for the first time, Pahadi Poetry Award was given to Dr. Viram Singh in 1983. First Chandradhar Sharma ‘Guleri’ Award was given to Mr. Keshav for Hindi Literature in 1986. The first Y.S. Parmar award was given to Mian Goverdhan Singh for the excellent Himachali cultural literature in 1986. First Pahari Gandhi Baba Kanshi Ram Award was given to Jaidev Kiran in 1989 AD for excellent hill literature. Bhawani Dutt Sharma was given the hill station, art, literature for the first Pahari Shikhar award in 1994 Prakash Chand, the first teacher to receive Himachal Pradesh National Teachers Award, who received this honor in 1958. He was the Principal of the State Senior School (Shimla). Himachal Pradesh’s Best Sports Award is Parashurama Award. The first Parashurama award was given to Sundernagar’s athlete Suman Rawat, given to him in the 1987 AD award. Chandradhar Sharma ‘Guleri’ in Himachal Pradesh on July 7, Pahadi Day on November 1, Yashpal Jayanti on December 3, Lalchandra Prayer Jayanti on 3rd April, Pahari Gandhi Baba Kanshi Ram Jayanti on 11th July, Dr Y.S. Parmar Jayanti is celebrated on 4th August every year. The Himachal Pradesh Art, Culture and Language Academy was established in 1968 and inaugurated on 2 October 1972. Yashpal Sahitya Pratisthan in Himachal Pradesh is in Nadun, which was established in 1995. Mahatma Gandhi has written a Dhami Paath book over the Dhami state.
