Varun Barari from Himachal Pradesh Scales Europe’s Highest Peak Mount Elbrus

Varun Barari from Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh has successfully led a nine-member team to the summit of Mount Elbrus (5,643 meters), the highest peak in Europe. The challenging expedition, held in Russia, lasted eight days and tested the climbers against icy winds and tough routes. A resident of Khaliar ward, Mandi, Varun has earlier climbed several high peaks in Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal. His remarkable achievements continue to inspire youth towards adventure sports and mountaineering. Varun is now preparing to lead a Czech Republic team in the upcoming Black Peak expedition to be held in Uttarakhand in October.

मंडी जिले के वरुण बरारी ने अपनी नौ सदस्यीय टीम का नेतृत्व करते हुए यूरोप की सबसे ऊंची पर्वत चोटी माउंट एल्ब्रस (5,643 मीटर) पर सफल चढ़ाई की है। रूस में आयोजित यह चुनौतीपूर्ण अभियान आठ दिन तक चला, जिसमें बर्फीली हवाओं और कठिन रास्तों का सामना करना पड़ा। वरुण नगर निगम मंडी के खलियार वार्ड के निवासी हैं। इससे पहले भी उन्होंने लद्दाख, उत्तराखंड और हिमाचल की कई ऊंची चोटियों पर सफल चढ़ाई की है। उनकी इस उपलब्धि ने युवाओं को साहसिक खेलों और पर्वतारोहण की ओर प्रेरित किया है। अब वह अक्टूबर में चेक गणराज्य की एक टीम के साथ उत्तराखंड में आयोजित ब्लैकपीक अभियान में हिस्सा लेंगे।
